Happy Valentines Day!

Today my dad did his tradition of bringing each of his girls a rose and (something new) a little box of chocolates-it was for a girls camp fundraiser that I did:) Luickly this year he gave me the treats outside instead of doing what he did last year (highly embarrasing). Also today I got to audition for the modern peice that we are having in our spring show at my dance studio, which was intresting-I hope I get in! Happy Valentines Day and I love you all:)

Mom and Dad off to hawaii!

This week my parents decided to go to Maui, Hawaii! My dad has work up there and my mom can help him with work plus they wanted to escape to have some fun together. While they have been gone our aunt (my mom's brother's wife) watched us, which has been lots of fun! While my parents were in Hawaii they stayed in our condo that we have in Maui. While there my mom decided to randomly run a half marathon! She got 5Th place overall and got 1st place in her age group! As one of her prizes she got to go whale watching with my dad which she said was lots of fun. They come back tomorrow night, I can't wait to see them! And I can't wait to go with the family during spring break!

Major Up To Now, That Should Have All Ready Been Done Months Ago Update On The Erickson Family:)

OK so a TON of stuff had happened since you were last updated on the Erickson family life so I am going to do a quick summary on each of the things that has happened and over time I will post pictures...oh and these are in order from where I left off. So the most recent things that have happened will be at the end of the post...

1. Bruce and I performed in a piano recital! Bruce played Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid and I (Emma) played Fur Elise by: Beethoven

2.We got a cat! She is a really cute and sometimes feisty female calico cat. She is so much fun to play with and is all ways sooooooo cute! We like to call her 'freaky tiki' when she is being feisty :)

3.This year I got to participate in one of the most fun and spiritual experiences-Dance Festival. I learned and performed every dance that I was allowed to do :) I was in the beginning dance that everyone was in-to a remix of Do-Re-Me, my age group dance-to a song called 'Car Wash', the kind of middle song that everyone was in-to More by: Usher, a Bollywood dance, lyrical dance and performed in a kind of flag dance with the same group of girls that were in the lyrical dance-behind every one as everybody else sang How Firm a Foundation. Dance Festival was soooooooooooo much fun and such a great experience. Its mind boggling that 2,500 youth and many, many leaders can come together for such a spectacular event. It was also really fun because i got to do it with my best friend-Mae:) I can't wait to do it again in four years!

4. A few days after Dance Festival ended Audrey and I got to go up to our cousin's house-Kenadi and Carly, to hang out and have fun up in Medford for a while! It was tons of fun! We went swimming practically every day, went to parks, played on the farm, stayed up late every night you know the whole endless sleepover:)

5. The week following Audrey and I getting back from Medford Bruce got to go to cub camp! It was lots of fun for Bruce and allowed him to pass of more things and put even more things on is shirt!

6. The week after Cub Camp the whole family and my best friend Mae all got to go to Maui, Hawaii!! It was one of the best trips I have ever had to Hawaii!! That might of partially ok mostly have to do with the fact that my best friend got to come but we also did a lot of really fun things! For example we got to learn how to stand-up paddle board, and go on a huge shopping trip for souvenirs in Lahaina which was really fun! I hope we can do it again:)

7. The Day right after we got back from Hawaii I was off for my first experience of going to girls camp! I have to say this was the most challenging and spiritual camping trips I have ever been on! Ok, so it started out with one of the Uhal trucks burned up which had most of our crafts, all of our food and some of the older girls clothes and belongings in them! And then the first day there were bugs and that night since we were the fist years we of course go pranked till like three in the morning and than the next night we had a flash flood so all the people who were in tents-all there stuff got soaked and then the the next day there was a forest fire, the last day i have to say was the best-sunny, warm, and we got to wrap up with a very spiritual testimony meeting with the girls just in our ward, the bishop and our ward leaders! Even though the weather was the worst in the history of girls camp in our steak it was one of the most spiritual and has taught me a really good lesson: Even things may seem bad, you have to get over it and enjoy the happiness of the moment:)

8. A few days after getting back from girls camp the whole family got to go up to girls camp-where my dad's parents live. They have recently moved, so it was our first time seeing there new house! It was tons of fun! just day after day of chillin on the dock, swimming, eating yummy food, campfires and movies-all with family:)

9. The weekend after we got back from Hayden lake we got to go to the Clark County Fair! We usually go every year as a family and have since I was little. There are tons of fun rides, exhibits, and cool animals to look at! For the first part of the day Audrey and I went with my best friends family and then Bruce and my parents met up with us!

10.The nest week Audrey got to go to Cheer leading Camp at a workout place near our house! I went a couple times when I was younger and had a lot of fun so we thought Audrey might like it also! It was so cute to watch Audrey dress up in her little little BYU cheerleader outfit that used to be mine and wear her hair in pigtails and go and do all the little moves:) Durring the week that Audrey was participating in the camp my parents were in Hawaii and while they were there they bought a condo so my dad has somewhere he can all ways stay, when he goes there for buisness. When he or the whole family is not there we are renting in out to people-so if anybody is intrested.....

11. My dad's old company that he used to half own all ways had a picnic in the summer at Louisville park. But when the company split up he got to keep the reservations! So, we decided to invite a few families to come with us to the park for a kinda big picnic! It was lots of fun;)

12. For Audrey's Birthday we decided to go up to Hayden Lake one last time before the school year began and for Audrey's 7th birthday! It was lots of fun to play in the lake and go boating one last time and to celebrate Audrey's Birthday with the family! She also had a little party with all of her little friends once we got back:)

13. First Day of School! I can't believe the summer is all ready over! This year Audrey will be going into 2nd grade with the same teacher that Bruce and I had, Bruce will be going into 5th grade-I can't believe how old he is getting! And then, I will be going into 7th grade and VSAA-this year I am taking MIA (moving image arts-where you get to learn how to make movies and do animation), Dance level 1, and Graphic Design! I can't wait to see how another school year goes! This school year Bruce and I will be doing piano, Audrey will do gymnastics, and I will be doing ballet-I am also joining the performing company in ballet!

14.Mom got to do the Black Diamond Triathlon! Sadly she did it all by her self, but she did really well and had lots of fun!

15.Mom had her big birthday: She turned 40! For her big birthday present she got a really nice, custom made, new, dinning room table! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

16. Every year Bruce participates in a Cub Scout Camp fundraiser-a cake auction. This year Bruce brought a cheesecake:)

17.For a fun YW/YM activity that I got to go to-we did a night corn maze activity! It really fun until my group got completely lost and had to eventually cut through the side of the maze! We were the last ones out.....It was really fun in the end through!

18. That weekend we got to go as a family to the pumpkin patch-where we got every year! It was lots of fun to go through the corn maze, and not get lost, have hot cocoa and cider, climb on the hay tower, slingshot pumpkins and then take a tractor ride out to where we got our pumpkins and then a tractor ride back!

19. Halloween was lots of fun this year! Since Halloween was on a Sunday our ward had a Trunk-or-Treat, and then we also had Halloween party! This year I was haunted ballerina (I wore a black tutu, black fishnet leggings, a 3/4 length sleeve leotard, I wore my hair in a messy bun and I put on freaky make-up:) Bruce was a ninja-he covered him self in as much black as he had and wore a sword in his belt. Audrey was Hermione from Harry Potter she wore a little robe and wore the glasses, and had a plastic wand and had my mom put a scar made out of eye liner on her forehead:)

20. This is a shout to Grammie birthday! HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY GRAMMIE~WE LOVE YOU A LOT, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR US!!!

21. Thanksgiving was lots of fun this year! We got to have all most of all of my dad's family come over! On thanksgiving most of the adults and me got to do a 5k turkey trot-this was the longest I have ever run! My mom got first place out of the women! The whole rest of the day was spent cooking and then we had a awesome Thanksgiving meal! We had I think 7 pies-it was awesome!!:) The next day Brynne took our family pictures and that afternoon we got to go see the first half of Harry Potter 7 in theaters!! It was really cool-we rarely go to the theaters, so this was a real treat:) That night and the next day everybody left:(

22.December was a really busy month! First off because I had a ton of Nutcracker practices, lots of homework was being piled in before winter break and just our normal schedule was crazy! Nutcracker was really fun! I was a part girl, soldier, Chinese and a under study for waltz flower! Plus that weekend my mom left for her youngest brother wedding! Christmas was fun this year:) we just hung out as a family and enjoyed hanging out together and playing with our new Christmas presents; on of the biggest presents that we got for Christmas was my mom got a new oven and microwave and counter stove thingy:)

23. For a fun activity my dad decided to take all the kids up to Mt.hood to go sledding, with another family which was lots of fun! We spent the whole day up there, enjoying the snow! We hope to be able to do it again next year!

24.HAPPY NEW YEARS!!! I can't believe it's all ready 2011!! I can't wait to see what this new year has in store for us!

25. Our cousins Cade and Jay got to come and stay with us while there parents went on a cruise! It was soooooooo much fun! They are such cute little boys and sooooooo much fun to play with:) I hope that we can watch them again!!

26. I, along with my best friend and two other girls have auditioned for BYU ballet camp! I hope we get in!!

27. This year I have been taking freshman math and since it was a high school class I had finals; which I got 100% on!!!

28. Just this last weekend I got to go to the temple with the YW and YM from my ward which was a really fun and spiritual experience:) also that night I got to have a sleepover with one of my friends from Church, while the rest of my family went up to Skamania lodge for my dad's company dinner:)

-sory it has taken soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long for me to catch up but I will try to not let any thing close to this happen again! ;)

Were Out of School!

Yay! I (Emma) have succeeded in completing my 1st year of middle school-6th grade at Vancouver School of Arts and Academics! I can't wait to go back next year! Bruce was able to complete 4th grade and will be coming back to Eisenhower as a big 5th grader! Audrey has just completed her first year in the challenge program with Mrs.Michaud, as a 1st grader! And, can't wait to go back as a 2nd grader, at Eisenhower, with Bruce!

Primary Camp Out

Every year our ward has a primary camp out for the kids and their dads. So, my dad took Audrey and Bruce to it:)

Horse Shoe for the dads

Me and my friend Bailey

Food yum:)

On Memorial Day we had no school and the weather was nice so we decided to invite a few families from our ward to join us at a park for a BBQ. It was lots of fun! We had lots of food and fun with friends and we had fun playing on the playground!

Day of Caring

At my school, once a year we have a all school field trip to different parts of the community. Each student gives the school a sheet with their ten top choices to go to in different parts of the community. Then depending on how fast you turn in your list determines if you will get one at the top of your list . After going to school 45 min. early to turn in my list I was assigned the group that went to a local horse ranch called Royal Ridges. Which was my second choice. I thought it would be all fun and we would help take care of horses but, ............No, I ended up cleaning the windows of the nastiest buildings I have ever seen in my life!! I think that the only time they are cleaned are when my school does the once a year service project there! I also had to clean the most dust filled buses I have ever been to! It was disgusting! But, I'm glad I did the service:) Also, once we got back we got to dance around while we listened to a band play in our school theater!
